Taunton High Street is changing. Taunton-based Reed Holland Associates is project managing the ongoing de-clutter, which involves removing problem trees and broken or redundant street furniture eg. signs, planters and seating. This work will be completed before Christmas shopping begins in earnest.
Whilst this work is underway, the architect team led by Jonathan Scanlan, is busily working on an exciting design (masterplan) for the County town's new look High Street. To help them design a High Street you will enjoy visiting and be proud of, we invite you to take part in a free two day event which aims to record memories, how you use the present High Street and aspirations for its future. Follow this link for more information.
Your are invited to get involved in the changes to Taunton's High Street!
Join in the free event on 21 and 22 October and carpet the the High Street with giant drawings. No artistic experience necessary.
With the help of our artists everyone will be able to create ‘drawings’ depicting the lost stories, hidden gems and rich patterns of the High Street and the people who live, work, shop, sit, listen and wander there.
